Why is fishing prohibited in some regions of different CIS countries

During the spawning seasonfishermen should understand that the future catch depends entirely on the number of new fish. The more successful this process goes, the more catch will be in the future. It is for these purposes that the spring fishing ban is introduced. This prohibition can be either complete or apply only to some species of fish – it depends entirely on the place of fishing. The regions set the ban on their own, based on the characteristics of the fish, the reservoir and the climatic zone. In addition, there are generalized rules and regulations for the control of fishing. The autumn ban regulates the extermination of this or that type of fish in wintering pits, in reservoirs, nature reserves and other categories of reservoirs. In addition to amateur fishermen, reservoirs are exposed to other influences, which significantly complicate the process of reproduction and preservation of fish stock:

  1. Impact on water quality of objects such as hydroelectric power plants.
  2. Poaching complicates the process of spawning and growth of fish stocks due to obstacles that prevent fish from moving freely in the reservoir. And we don’t even have to talk about the scale of the catch.
  3. Contamination of water by other means, such as the discharge of waste into water by various enterprises, as well as the general state of the environment
  4. There are not enough spawning grounds, both artificial and natural.
  5. There is little water in the reservoirs due to the scarce amount of precipitation.

It is important to understand that fishing is recreation, entertainment, but not a way of earning money for individuals without the appropriate permission.

A general ban that applies to almost all regions of the CIS countries is fishing in wintering pits from October 1 to April 30. During this period, it is better to refrain from fishing. Daily catch rate

Do not forget about the existence of a daily limit, it varies depending on the type of fish. It is better to take a measuring device for fishing with which you can measure the weight and a ruler to avoid possible penalties. Fish like
bleaks ,
ruffs and minnows are not overly prized as they are of little value. Therefore, there is no limit on them.

Daily catch rate for certain species
NameSize in centimeters
Pike32
Zander40
Bream25
Asp40
Carp40
Burbot40
Ide25
Chubtwenty
Catfish70
Cancernine

The caught fish, the size of which is smaller than indicated in the table, must be immediately released back into the reservoir. The total daily catch cannot exceed 5 kilograms. Every fisherman is obliged to contribute to the fauna of reservoirs and refuse to fish in the wrong places in the autumn. Laws that seem meaningless are actually helping to protect the inhabitants of water bodies from extinction. Humanity consumes a huge amount of fish, someone just for food, and someone exterminates fish for entertainment, which cannot be acceptable in modern realities. Therefore, limiting fishing in the autumn period is a completely logical move on the part of the authorities. Unimpeded spawning will provide a good headroom for the future, there will be more fish in the reservoirs, and fish prices will not increase so actively. That’s why,if, nevertheless, avid fishermen are impatient to plunge into the fishing process, they should do it in the proper places, making sure in advance that fishing is allowed there during the current period.
