Bleak habits in autumn: where to find it
In September, bleak (selyavka, sebel, chebak), like other inhabitants of water bodies, begins to actively feed, feeling the approach of cold weather. She tries to gain more fat so that she can get through this difficult time of the year easier. From the first days of the month, she begins to have an active diet. This fish is found in almost all bodies of water. It is tied to a certain habitat and practically does not leave it. While the water is warm, you can find fish near the reaches, small bays, as well as in the lower parts of the rivers. In the warm season, bleak stays in the upper layers of the reservoir. But the colder it gets, the farther from the coast it goes, and the migration of bleak occurs much earlier than in other fish. Already from the middle of the month, bleak must be looked for in river pits, next to the channels – there they stand until the first spring days.

It doesn’t matter if it is cloudy or sunny, the main thing is that there is no rain or wind. An excellent bite is observed when the air temperature remains stable for several days or gradually rises.
Important! Strong winds, precipitation, and a drop in temperature are factors that make it better to postpone fishing.
The best time to fish: from morning to 11-12 hours, from sunset to complete darkness, although you can catch bleak throughout the day. This applies not only to September, but also to the rest of the fall months.
In the morning the autumn sebel is more active [/ caption] In October and November, bleak is already moving away from the coast, but continues to be active until freezing. Now it is found not near the surface of the water, but approximately in the middle layers. The best baits and baits are universal for all months:

maggot ,
worm ,
bloodworm . And also spinning lures –

Catching autumn bleak on a float
The float tackle is a versatile tool for catching bleak. It allows you to throw the bait into any part of the reservoir, and is used successfully throughout the year. The main advantage of collecting float tackle for bleak is its low cost. You can use even the simplest rods made of cheap materials, as long as they are of the appropriate length. Usually, a float tackle is based on a
fly rod without passing rings (max), where a fishing line with a rig is attached.
Fly fishing rod equipment [/ caption] But it is not forbidden to use ordinary telescopic “sticks” with any reels, from 2 to 6 meters long, depending on the type of fishing (from a boat or from the shore) and the places where the fish are kept. On large bodies of water, it makes sense to use a
plug-in rod with guides and a spinning reel. This arrangement of the tackle will allow you to easily fish at a distance of 50-60 meters from the shore.

Important! For fishing in September in the coastal zone, a float with a carrying capacity of 0.2 mm is enough. The further the fish is, the heavier the float should be.

It is important that they drown the float almost completely, and only the antenna remains above the water – this will allow you to notice even the most careful bites. Hooks – No. 14-16. https://tytkleva.net/lovlya-mirnoj-ryby/opisanie-i-povadki/lovlya-uklejki-na-poplavochnuyu-udochku.htm
Lateral nod for fishing on the autumn sebel
The side nod is good because it can quickly fish large areas in search of fish. This is a versatile tackle that performs well in spring, summer and autumn. For rigging, you will need a rigid fly rod up to 6 meters long, with rings. The “stick” should be light, as catching bleak is an active process that requires frequent re-throws. The coil is used inertial, wire. Line – 0.1-0.12 mm, no leash needed.

bezmotylki the type of tumbleweed and goats, but it is possible to use a conventional single hook with a long forearm to №16 inclusive … Devils [/ caption] In October, it will be useful to decorate the hook with additional colorful beads or pieces of rubber. The weight is at least 30 cm from the hook. It is also advisable to hook any bait on the hook, be it vegetable or animal.
Interesting fact! When fishing on the side nod, bleak often reacts to such lures, which it ignores when fishing with float gear. So, for example, large bleak can be successfully caught on wheat or
pearl barley grains.
There are 3 main wiring for the side nod:
- Classic . The bait gradually rises from the bottom to the surface.
- Lowering . This is the classic reverse wiring. The lure slowly sinks to the bottom, the speed of the retrieve is controlled by the angler.
- Diagonal . The lure rises diagonally from the bottom to the surface with periodic pauses for 2-3 seconds.
Important! Which of these baits will be effective, you cannot know for sure. Catching bleak, especially in autumn, requires experimentation.
Bombard as a gimmick delicacy
Bombarda or sbirulino is an Italian way of catching bleak, which is already firmly entrenched in Russia. This tackle is ideal for autumn fishing, as it allows you to make long, and most importantly, accurate casts. Rod – feeder or picker from 3 to 4.5 meters long. The test is 10-30 g, the form is soft.
Important! With a picker dough of 10-30 grams, you can safely use light baits of 5-7 grams.
The rod is equipped with a simple reel, you can even use cheap plastic options – bleak is a small fish, so it does not create problems when playing. Spool capacity – no more than 2500. Any line, no more than 0.16 mm thick.

Hook No. 12-16 is attached to the leash. The sbirulino float is selected depending on where the bleak is located in the reservoir. In September, the fish stand in shallow water, therefore, floating floats are used, and when the bleak goes into the depths, sinking ones.Visual montage of the bombard [/ caption]
Interesting to know. There are universal transparent models of sbirlino floats that can be filled with water and thus change its type.
Ultralight fishing
Usually they catch predatory fish with a spinning rod
, but sometimes anglers get bored and decide to try something new. And now experiments have shown that an
ultra-light spinning rod can catch many species of peaceful fish, including bleak. From the shore, this method of fishing is available only in September; from October, you will have to use a boat to bring the tackle to the fishing grounds. The rod is used ultralight, no more than 2.5 meters long. The test is at the discretion of the angler, but not more than 10 grams. Usually, for peaceful fish, spinning rods are used with a dough of 0.5-5 g, 2-8 g, 5-10 g. The reel should be light, with the function of stepless friction adjustment. The spool size is 1000-1500. The line is not thicker than 0.16 mm, the leash is 0.1-0.12 mm.
Important! Throwing such a light tackle even close to the shore is problematic, so when fishing with a spinning rod, a “sbirulino” float is also used.
For natural baits (worm, insects, dough), hooks up to No. 18 are used – they must have a small head, otherwise it will not work to avoid idle bites. Of artificial lures, spinningists prefer microbloods, flies, poppers and microtwisters.
Using a spider is not sporting, but you can use bleak
This tackle is a square piece of net, stretched over a rigid frame:
In general, the attitude of anglers to such tackle is ambiguous: some equate almost to poaching, although the use of a “spider” is legal, others smile indulgently, supposedly, any person can fish with such tackle, not even knowing anything about fishing. This is partly true, but usually a “spider” is used to catch live bait for fishing, and bleak is ideal for this role. The principle of operation of the tackle is simple: it is thrown to the bottom in the area of the reservoir where the fish lives, then a certain interval is maintained so that the fish calms down after the disturbance of the water, then rises. The procedure is repeated until the required amount of live bait is caught.
Fly fishing for sebel
Fly fishing is another good bleak technique. For catching bleak, a lightweight 0-2 class fly-fishing rod and a reel corresponding to this class are enough. The cord is floating with a thin underbrush. When fishing with fly fishing, artificial baits are used that imitate flies. It is important that they are as realistic as possible. Small flies and other insects falling into the water are the usual food base for bleak, so when using this tackle you can really count on a good catch, but this tackle is applicable only at the beginning of autumn.
Catching bleak on “foam rubber”
Foam rubber is an incredibly effective bait for catching bleak. For cooking you will need:
- 1 part flour;
- 1 part semolina;
- some vegetable oil;
- flavoring;
- water.
Flour with semolina are mixed, a little vegetable oil, flavors are added there, after which water is added in quantities so that the resulting mixture is like sour cream in consistency. Put a small piece of foam rubber on the hook, squeeze it with two fingers, then place it inside the mixture and release it – it will absorb the liquid. One piece is enough for several wires. Everyone selects the type of tackle for foam rubber individually. This lure is compatible with many, and even with a spinning rod.
The main element is groundbait
When catching bleak in the fall, you cannot do without bait. A simple yet effective recipe looks like this:
- Mix the breadcrumbs and bran in a 1: 1 ratio, then grind thoroughly with a coffee grinder.
- Add two parts milk powder and another part semolina to the mixture.
- Then stir again and add flavor. An hour or two before fishing, a little water is added to the bait.

Secrets and Tricks
In stores, you can find flavored pieces of styrofoam, which also perform well in the fall.
Styrofoam balls for fishing [/ caption] Even the thinnest fishing line will not hurt to mask additionally, picking it up in the color of the reservoir. The knot that ties the fishing line to the hook can be additionally reinforced with glue. It is said that catching bleak in the fall is a test of the angler’s skill. Having learned to catch it, you can safely call yourself an experienced angler.
